Since May of 2020 James Asali has served as a legal and policy consultant to Ranpak Corp. and its parent company, One Madison Group LLC. In this capacity, he is focused on advancing the sustainability benefits of paper in packaging, influencing public policy, and amplifying the industry’s voice across the consumer and media landscape.
Mr. Asali previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of GMH Associates, Inc., and its affiliates. Prior to his joining GMH in October of 2013, he was a partner in the corporate department of Archer & Greiner, P.C. in Philadelphia. In his M&A and finance practice, he has handled transactions totaling in excess of $4 billion.
Mr. Asali received his Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Concentration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctor With Honors from The George Washington University Law School, where he served as Articles Editor of The George Washington University Law Review.
Mr. Asali works frequently with Philly VIP to provide pro bono services as part of its business counseling programs. He has also been a presenter and contributor to the Street Law program of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
In his spare time, Mr. Asali enjoys tennis, reading, travel, classic film, music, and, of course, spending time with his family.
